This monthly magazine showcases the cream of crop of websites, easy to follow tutorials and industry news. The accompanying CD contains all the required files to complete the tutorials, freebies, templates and resources.
.net is a comprehensive magazine for web designers and developers, featuring step-by-step tutorials from leading agencies, interviews with the web’s trend setters, and monthly features on the hottest issues affecting the internet today. Another great feature of the magazine is the ‘website build-off; where three leading designer are given a theme and using technologies & techniques that are available today to build a webpage with comments of their design and approach. The accompanying CD features full and shareware programs.
Photographers
Digital Photographer is a great resource magazine for professional and armature photographers. With great how-to’s, equipment reviews and great projects ideas. This monthly magazine from the UK unfortunately only features UK locations and pricing details in reviews. Never the less this is a leading magazine providing fantastic advice ad tips to capturing great photos. With the Digital Photographer website user’s can enter competitions and upload photos to their own free gallery.
Graphic Designers
Advanced Photoshop is packed with Photoshop tutorials, inspiration and product reviews. The magazine is aimed at intermediate to advanced Photoshop users. Desktop Magazine is an Australian owned and run magazine showcasing Aussie designs and digital culture. The monthly magazine is packed with pop culture designs and inspiration in large format style (large images and text) with attractive user designed front covers. The magazine also has great accompanying website with created for user interaction with a forums, blogs and project wall (users can display their work).
These magazines with the exception of Desktop Magazine are UK based, making subscription cost an issue for some. But the magazines mentioned here are the industrial leaders in their fields with great content and advice for creative’s. There are other means of subscription to cut cost via iPhone and iPad. Web Designer, Advanced Photos, Digital Photographer and Computer Arts (Brazil) magazines are available as an app. Simply search for these in the App store.
